Designing the XP3

I started this blog with the intention of posting up all my old designs up here, but this semester became hectic very quickly.

Instead of getting on here and posting more scooter pictures today, I suppose I should try to get up to date with what I am currently working on... BUSES!  I am not going to get extremely detailed today, but I want to show some of the cool stuff that's been happening.

As a group, Mike Buquet, Danielle Scocciomaro, Billy McDonald, Azeez Alli Balogun and I have designed a bus from the ground up.  We started with sketches, but quickly moved on to modeling and full scale volumetrics as seen below.

Mike and Danielle demonstrating how to sit on a clear bus.

An early model.  Luckily, everything has changed.
After we had a general idea of what we were going for with this stuff, it was time for me to produce some 3d sketches and renderings.
step one, draw out the frame in rhino3d
step 2, add some materials to that frame
step 3, behold, a bus!

Okay, so I skipped hundreds of steps and months of work on this project, but I think this gives a good general idea of what happened.  My work on this bus design is definitely not over yet, but I am very happy with where it is, so I suppose now is a great time to share.

I am going to try to keep up with this blog from now on, hopefully updating at least twice a week.
